Match Report: Dromintee U14s Dominate in Impressive Division 1 League Win Over Killeavy

Full-time: Dromintee 6-17, Killeavy 2-08
Venue: Dromintee GAA Grounds

Dromintee Under-14s delivered a commanding performance on home turf on Tuesday evening as they swept past local rivals Killeavy with an emphatic 6-17 to 2-08 victory.

From the throw-in, Dromintee set the tone with high intensity and sharp attacking play. The forward line, led by the lively trio of Paraic McGennity, Miceál O’Hanlon and Daithí Carnegie, proved too hot to handle for the Killeavy defence. McGennity’s clever movement and finishing, O’Hanlon’s direct running, and Carnegie’s vision and link-up play contributed heavily to the scoreboard and to Dromintee’s fluid attacking game.

In midfield, Dáibhí Carr and Charlie Jennings provided the platform for Dromintee’s dominance. The pair controlled possession for long spells, winning breaking ball and launching attacks with accurate distribution. Their work rate and composure were instrumental in maintaining Dromintee’s tempo throughout the game.

Defensively, Dromintee were solid and well-organised. The backline kept Killeavy’s forwards at bay for much of the game, limiting their chances and turning over possession at crucial moments. Even when Killeavy managed to find the net twice, Dromintee responded with calm assurance, reasserting control almost immediately.

The scoreline reflected Dromintee’s superiority, but the team’s cohesion, discipline, and determination were just as impressive as the final tally. It was a performance full of promise, with every line of the pitch contributing to a well-earned victory.

Dromintee continue their Under-14 Division 1 league campaign with an away game at Armagh Harps on Tuesday 24 June.
